I reserved a copy of 10 for my granddaughter's Dell Inspiron 531 around the same time as the other two systems. The one thing I want to share with you concerning Windows 10 is this: Don't feel bad about your problem-I know that Windows 10 WILL NOT download and install properly on all systems. Case in point: I reserved, downloaded, and upgraded my XPS 1530 laptopĪnd Dell Studio XPS 64-bit Desk Top system and did not experience as much as a single problem. Programs still work okay (so far) except two or three that I knew were very old and obsolete and eventually had to be uninstalled. After receiving my "ready to download Windows 10 notice", I downloaded the software and it installed perfectly-not a single hiccup. All of my software To summarize my experience with the 10 upgrade, I opted to accept the free upgrade offer from Microsoft. I recall updating the BIOS to A12 dated shortly after its release and don't think that there is a newer one available on the Dell Website. All of my upgrades have been 32-bit and I'm running the 32-bit version of 10 now. I upgraded from Vista (dreaded it) to Windows 7 and recently upgraded to Windows 10 (two weeks ago). I've owned my 1530 since 2006/07 and it still works fine.
